In the Preda World Collective, cimbalom virtuoso Marius Preda holds the threads together. He was shaped by jazz studies in The Hague and collaborations with greats such as Sandoval and Gurtu. At the piano sits his son Eduard Preda, who trained at Berklee and represents a voice of the younger generation as a composer. Robertino Mihai provides the foundation with his warm double bass sound, while Maxim Zettel contributes his expertise in Brazilian and Afro-Latin rhythms. As a guest, guitarist Ratko Zjaca expands the ensemble’s sonic space. The Preda World Collective blends folklore from Romania and the Balkans with jazz, Latin, and classical forms. At its core are original compositions and dense arrangements that leave room for improvisation. The mix of cimbalom, piano, double bass, drums, and guitar creates a flexible, energetic sound. Virtuosity meets clear melodies; the dialogue of voices drives the music forward and opens pathways between tradition and the present.
