An article by Dr Marcus Büchel about the Hagenhaus served as the impetus. After Dr h.c. lic. iur Walter Matt produced a film to promote the rescue of the decaying jewel, the Pro s'Hagen-Huus z'Nendla association was founded on 17 December 2015.
A suitable user was found in the form of the Music Academy in Liechtenstein. President Otmar Hasler and Managing Director Drazen Domjanic were able to convince with the cultural and social orientation of the academy. The renowned architecture firm Cukrowicz and Nachbaur from Bregenz to begin planning.
With a total usable area of 1122 square metres and a volume of 6000 cubic metres, the farmstead can only be classified as a medium-sized building site; however, the experts agree that its complexity is extraordinarily high.
As ‘probably the best preserved farmstead of the first half of the 19th century in Liechtenstein’ (Albertin), the Hagenhaus farmstead is certainly of national importance. It is no exaggeration to say that its revitalisation is one of the most significant renovations of historical buildings in the country in recent years. Work on this project will be completed in June 2024, when the Academy of Music will take over the baton.
